Some nitwit named Gary M.Stern at the National Archives has determined he can't have another TON of paperwork on the judge's decisions ready for the commiecrats before the "end of October". This means if the GOP goes for this dodge, Kavanaugh couldn't be seated on the next USSC Oct.1st, replacing Kennedy. Of course Chuck U. tried to act surprised by this treachery, and can now start sobbing that the fix is in when the GOP goes ahead with Kavanaugh's hearing before the end of Sept. They already have more than enough to know this judge is a shoe-in: :eusa_whistle:

Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., said the documents already being sought would stack as high as the Capitol dome. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said they would stretch 11.9 miles — "Kavanaughtical" miles, he called them.

"What more do they need to know to vote no?" Grassley said.

Wait.

It's an election year, remember.

As of 2016 no President gets to appoint justices in an election year.

You can thank the charm and foresight of Harry Reid for what's happening, Hazel. :heehee:

Yet another stupid failure by Donald. He knew Kavanaugh was a liability for a quick confirmation because of his enormous paper trail. But Donald did it anyway.

Chuck U Schumer et al will never vote for Kavanaugh anyhow, the libs have made the process so uberpartisan.

But , in any event, the President has the votes, he will just ram it through.

That's only if the opposition party has the Senate.

Next year, it doesn't matter if its an election year or not, if the Democrats win the Senate there won't be any more nominations approved.

GOP will pick up at least 4 Rat Senate seats...no worries.

Bill Nelson (D-Fla.)
Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.)
Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.)
Jon Tester (D-Mont.)
Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.)
Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)
Bob Casey (D-Pa.)
Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.)
Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.)

Oh the foolishness of those in Washington. The ridiculous nature of the request for documents simply has me concentrated on the photo included in the OP which has me wondering:
  • I wonder how much it cost to have that comparison graph made which features the height of the stack of documents?
  • How much did it cost to label and stack all those boxes?
  • Was the speaker at the podium tempted to lean over close to the mic and say, "Cleanup needed on aisle 12"
  • At an average reading speed how long would it take a single person to read through all those documents?
  • Would that length of time to read through the documents be any different if the reader was married?
  • If the 5 white guys standing there were a street gang, what would be its name?
  • Why has this given me urge to listen to Manfred Mann's Do Wah Diddy?

Holding the confirmation vote before the election could help get some of these Democrat senators on board with an "aye" vote.

Decisions, decisions. I am always one click away from IGNORING you.

Its a ridiculous tactic, as the Democrats in the Senate are refusing to even meet with Judge Kavanaugh. They are obviously not serious about doing their job and getting the man confirmed and just want to delay.

Ram it through, the hell with the request.

Judge Anton Scalia was an admitted opponent of abortion and was probably more conservative than Kavanaugh but he was confirmed by a vote of 98-0. What's going on with democrats these days? Are they trying to delay the vote because they are hoping for a socialist majority? It ain't gonna happen.

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure we pay a lot of people at the National Archives a LOT of money to do their jobs, and if there's a more important aspect of their jobs at the moment than this, I certainly can't imagine what it is.

Earn your damned keep, or pack your shit and move along so someone else can.

Wait, it's an election year.

As of forever, no post by hazlnut is anything but bullshit in an election year.

Or any other year.

Let me see:

To the first two questions, they had an intern do it.
To the third question, probably.
To the fourth question, they make interns do that, too.
To the fifth question, no. But it WOULD cost more, because a married man wouldn't be an unpaid intern.
Can't help you with the last two.
