Im sure a link will be available soon, but Im watching Stephen Colbert right now, a new episode, and his opening story is of a Marietta, GA Republican chairwoman in that area, who is talking gay marriage.

Colbert is a brilliant comedian. And he starts with a Southern accent reading the GOP loon's comments, where she says "Lord knows Im gonna get in trouble for this, but..." "2 women and 2 men just dont have the equipment to" have sex. Haha, "equipment". And, she goes on (with Colbert's mocking her) to talk about how 2 men could just be friends, but fake a marriage to get benefits (like NO woman has ever married a man just for the benefits and money, or vice versa).

Just one more step to the edge of the cliff for the GOP. The young people of America identify more with Stephen Colbert than....well, anyone in the GOP. Being a Republican is becoming taboo in society, it's being painted as being a total nutjob.

Real or not, you gotta admit, Dems are kicking the GOP's ass in the image and messaging war. And it's not even close.

Colbert is a good tricycle for learning jokes and hack lines. Should serve you well.

Maybe you and people of your ilk should take note. Colbert and Stewart have won over the youth of this country. That generation is going to grow into their 20's and 30's thinking Republicans are nothing more than bitter, angry, ignorant and sometimes racist/sexist old men.

Now please....silence yourself and pay your taxes old man:eusa_hand:

Colbet is an idiot. Who gives a shit what he thinks?

Millions of young people of various races, all of whom vote.

Yet another reason why Obama is still in office, and why the Dems are slowly bleeding out the GOP, one step at a time.

Idiots.

BEcause they are undereducated, over-qualified morons who believe in free gov't shit and that Obama "cares" about them.
The GOP had an epic win in 2010 and managed to hold its own in Congress in 2012. The GOP also holds the majority of state houses and governerships.
Facts suck for you, bucko.

Just wait until they start working thier way up the employment ladder, and thier taxes jump up.

Its amazing what happens when you have to start paying for other people's stuff, instead of the other way around.

We cannot stress how effective Colbert and Stewart are at demolishing Conservatives' and the GOP's reputation in this country. Especially among the young.

As propagandists go, they are among the best in our history. They skewer Conservatism for an hour a night, and do it in the most disrespectful way.

Which is good, because after the eight failed years of Dubya, Conservatism deserves to be skewered, and as disrespectfully as possible.

So basically your side can't argue on facts and figures, so you have to go with the hack comedy route.

Got it.

Maybe the youth should learn to understand the difference between parody and reality. In Colberts case, his paraody plays on the spin that is out there. Strictly on the spin. Thats what makes it funny...becuase spin is usually the incredible.

The problem with todays young voters is they are so engrossed in reality TV, they have difficulty determining what is fact and fiction.

So when they vote? It is not a truly educated vote.

And left or right? It is not in the best interest of either side.

it amazes me that anyone of any ideology is proud of the fact that people are being persuaded by a comedian who is paid to come up with humor in politics.

Afterall...the best humor is the spin.

We want our voters to be persuaded by comedians?

Really?

Thank you for proving my point. When all you got is snark, you do not have much.

Getting your news from a comedian. That's the liberal way!

I missed your post with facts and figures...

Considering this thread is about observations on colbert and Stewart, what "facts and figures" should I be providing?

Keep up with the conversation. I know it is taxing on your limited cereberal cortex, but we do appriciate any effort to cut down on teh stupid on your part.
