If it's beyond you, perhaps it's not the voters that are stupid. Very few think that supporting a group that would align themselves with and absorb George Wallace's American Independent Party is a good thing. America is a centrist country and the Constitutionalists are just too extreme right wing for most to stomach.

Conservative Democrats were mostly Conservative Slave Holding defenders...Southerners and some conservative Republicans were with them on slavery being a territorial or state issu and not a national one.

Make no mistake about it, the Grand Old Party was for a long time a very liberal party.

Like I've explained to you before, facts have a way of getting in the way of your arguments

Values versus reality? I'll temporarily put aside principles and values any day if it means the destruction of me and my nation. What good is being dead and right?

The problem with purists and strict ideologues is they forget principles are there to serve man, not the other way around. People like Ron/Rand Paul and the Tea Party would support a principle to its logical conclusion no matter the cost. Thonk fascosm and totalitarianism masked as freedom and liberty
