If you erase the cause of your grievance, it must not exist. It is very clear that no recognized historical event has ever disavowed the cause in order to promote history. Quit belly aching, you can't be pleased. BTW, in what state were your ancestors enslaved--I am unaware of the US ever enslaving Jamaica--Brits and Spanish enslaved the maroons, but not the US, yet you aren't calling for the removal of Jamaican history. That leads me to believe that you are a rabble rouser.

What? I asked for a coherent argument. What is this?

2. Removing statues does remove the grievance over their continued existence. That's the point. There used to be an unfortunate statue of Robert E Lee on Monument Ave and now it's been melted down to be turned into black art. It went from being a source of grievance to a source of amusement. 3. I still don't understand how any of this destroys history.

4. This all seems to be a bit of projection. Your claim is that I want to erase history but you're the only one expressing some desire to never have to talk about the Civil War again. I have no problem removing statues and reminiscing about that loser culture.
