Democrats in other states sure stress out about what books Florida achool shelve in their libraries.

Sorry, had to cut off that OP.

So, apparently a school had the great play “Diary of Ann Frank” available for the students. But, as with so many other things, someone just haaaad to come up with a porn comic book version. The school bought it, assuming it was educational, but when a parent pointed out how inappropriate it was, they pulled it.

I’m not sure what that causes so much angst.

Dems?

Florida Democrats are working to ban Ron DeSantis’ book from school Libraries

So what?

I’m not crying over what books schools don’t put on their shelves. If they don’t want to promote what is likely a self-serving and highly politicized book, by an active politician, that seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Of course, it is a moot point if no school has shown any interest in that book (from your link):

While it remains unknown whether his book has actually been placed in any schools across the state, Democrats are seeking to use the publication to highlight their opposition to this "ban."

I get why Dems want to invent supposed issues to geek out about. The real issues, such as inflation, crime, the border, weaponization of government, and taxes are all ballot box poison for Dems.

Kind of like banning Critical Race Theory which no Florida schools actually teach

Then one would wonder why Dems object so strongly to banning it.

Dem-run schools with Soros-owned board teach courses that are informed by Critical Race Theory, even if they don’t have a class called “Critical Race Theory I.” Or should I say disinformed.

Democrats want to argue about the label given to teaching children that certain races bear the guilt of their ancestors, while other races are entitled to special treatment because they are unable to succeed without help from the guilty race.

Call it whatever you want, just don’t teach kids that racist nonsense.

That is your problem

Republicans passing laws to ban Critical Race Theory end up with schools cutting back on any teaching about race and whitewashing history

They also ban unicorns
Guess that is working too

Untrue. I have photographic evidence.

To spread joy, a Seminole Heights woman runs through her neighborhood dressed as a unicorn

It was not pornographic. From your link: "Pippin argues that in one graphic scene in the book, Frank asks a friend to expose themselves to one another. In another scene, Pippin said Frank walks along nude statues that are sexually explicit".

The scenes are in the book and the only actual nudity in the graphic novel was of statues. Personally, I think the objector's comment that the statues were "sexually explicit" tells me a great deal about Jennifer Pippin, chair of the Indian River County chapter of Moms For Liberty. What she means, of course, is that they were nude. It seems obvious to me that Ms Pippin has personal issues and should not be making decisions for anyone.

Better they cut back on agonizing about race, than to tell contemporary children that they bear the guilt of their ancestors, and/or that they are unable to succeed because of what was done to theirs.

Do you understand if kids see a book like that with child sexuality and nudity, that’s what they will take away from the book, not the important story of Ann Frank. Does every book in the school library have to have a child sexuality theme?

Pippen has much more of a stake in what library books are stocked in Indian River County than Democrats who stress out about her actions.
