The irony is heavy here.....If we can't legally give the Iowa voters MONEY to vote for us. Let's give em steaks....yeah....that'll work...LOLOLOL
There was the annual Polk County Democratic Party Steak Fry yesterday, featuring every presidential candidate and many national Democratic figures donning ridiculous aprons to cook steaks for potential voters.
It was an interesting scene. At the recent CNN town hall on climate change, most of the Democratic candidates who were cooking and eating steak lectured the rest of us on our eating habits;
In short, we eat too much meat.
Washington Free Beacon:
"As a nation, we actually have to have a real priority at highest level of government around what we eat and in terms of healthy eating because we have a problem in America," Harris said. "But there has to be also what we do in terms of creating incentives that we will eat in a healthy way, that we will encourage moderation and that we will be educated about the effect of our eating habits on our environment."
Andrew Yang said he would "modify Americans' diets over time" by increasing the price of beef to the point where Americans would buy less meat. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and Mayor Pete Buttigieg are also in favor of adding a meat tax in order to decrease consumption.
A "meat tax"? The Iowa GOP had a lot of fun skewering Democrats for their hypocrisy.
The Hill:
The state GOP released a statement full of meat-related puns on Friday, warning that "there couldn't be more at steak" as the Democratic candidates visit Iowa for the fundraiser on Saturday night.
"As the candidates continue beefing over whose extreme proposals go further left, it’s clear this election will be a cook-off between socialism and President Trump’s winning, America First agenda," the local party said.
