It's always fun watching the libturds defend their scallywag scumbag president over his behavior leading up to our entry into WW II

Did FDR Provoke Pearl Harbor? ? LewRockwell.com

On Dec. 8, 1941, Franklin Roosevelt took the rostrum before a joint session of Congress to ask for a declaration of war on Japan.

A day earlier, at dawn, carrier-based Japanese aircraft had launched a sneak attack devastating the U.S. battle fleet at Pearl Harbor.

Said ex-President Herbert Hoover, Republican statesman of the day, “We have only one job to do now, and that is to defeat Japan.”

But to friends, “the Chief” sent another message: “You and I know that this continuous putting pins in rattlesnakes finally got this country bit.”

Today, 70 years after Pearl Harbor, a remarkable secret history, written from 1943 to 1963, has come to light. It is Hoover’s explanation of what happened before, during and after the world war that may prove yet the death knell of the West.

Edited by historian George Nash, “Freedom Betrayed: Herbert Hoover’s History of the Second World War and Its Aftermath” is a searing indictment of FDR and the men around him as politicians who lied prodigiously about their desire to keep America out of war, even as they took one deliberate step after another to take us into war.

So, now Pearl Harbor was the fault of liberals? That's going too far even for a scumbag like you, Bribaby.

You will rarely, if ever, see anything but the watered down version taught in school. Its no surprise that fdr hated the japanese and had previous affections for the chinese through trade. It carried on when he started the internment camps here in the US.

YEs, FDR deliberately engineered Japan into attacking us. The evidence is irrefutable.

Telling the simple truth is never "going too far." Much of our history is a total fabrication conceived by liberals.

Not sure if FDR wa sin office when we sided against Japan with China via the Flying Tigers, then embargoed Japan's oil imports. But both are acts of war. To say nothing of we shot first at Pearl Harbor sinking a midget submarine. Japan's planes were already in the air, but they were of course only responding to our siding with China. Isn't liek they woke up one day, closed their eyes and threw a dark at a map of the world and it landed on the US and they said, "Ok let's attack the US for no reason whatsoever."

(hmm...should maybe consider a spell-checker, but will leave those in cause it made me laugh.)

Without FDR's war we'd likely still be in the depression.

War is the only sure way to lower the unemployment stats - which is why the left's New Messiah keeps Afghanistan going despite his campaign promises in 2008.

We would have been speaking German

FDR provoked Pearl Harbor like George Bush provoked 9-11.

Apple and oranges... didn't they teach you anything in skool. The Nazis was a FUCKiNG world threat. The American public didn't want anything to do with another World war at the time..FDR did provoke the Japs to attack us. We had to go into that war.

You seem to miss my point. Pearl Harbor was an attack by the Japanese. They had their reasons, but they do not justify their actions. Meanwhile 9-11 was an attack by Al Qaeda. They had their reasons, but they do not justify their actions. Either we can blame ourselves, or we can blame the perpetrators. But we must apply the same standard to each scenario. Personally, I find the latter to be the appropriate standard.

Did FDR know war with Japan was coming yes did he know sooner or later America was going to drawn into WW2 despite the strong isolationist movement in the country at that time yes. Was he behind the Pearl Harbor attack or know in advance it was going to happen and allow it to no that is as silly as claiming Bush was behind or knew about and allowed 9-11 to happen.

So, you think that radical Islam is not a threat to the civilized world? Do you honestly think that flying airplanes into civilian establishments is less of a crime against humanity than a military attacking another military? Can you even HONESTLY compare the two?

The American public wanted nothing to do with spanking insane Muslims, in spite of the fact that there were all kinds of reasons to show no mercy to sub-human garbage lead by the teaching of a war-mongering pedophile.

America more or less forgave these animals the 200+ marines murdered in Lebanon. The 444 days of American hostages. The attack on the ship Cole. The embassies in Africa.

If America had been lead by a degenerate crippled savage like FDR on 9/11/2001, all the Muslims would have been dispatched to a concentration camp, like the Japanese were in the 1940's.

You are right about apples to oranges. The Japanese who America defeated with undisputed authority, are now America's greatest and best military and economical allies.
Can you imagine a Muslim government, anywhere in the world EVER be an ally to America?

The Flying Tigers did not go into action until AFTER 12/7/41.

Had Obama been President back then we wouldn't have gone to war with Japan.

He'd have apologized.

For what is immaterial 'cause He knows apologies make enemies into friends. Dead certain of that.

I am ambivalent on this topic. Mainly because I envision a time 50 years in the future when an historian attributes deliberation to Obamas presidency and subsequent events.

I have not passed the 'Obama is a moron' stage ... yet.
