I think this was supposed to be a tad humorous, but it's spot on.

While the left jumps into action when it comes to things like pop tarts bitten into the shape of a gun, large sugary drinks and hurrying to pass amnesty for millions of criminals, the right tends to worry more about things like Iran having nuclear weapons, arming the Muslim Brotherhood and the lack of jobs in this crappy economy.

I think the biggest threat to America is far left liberals bent on destroying capitalism and bringing in the sure-to-fail socialism.

The surest way to save capitalism is for both parties to work together on a jobs bill. Hasn't happened.

In other words? Conservatives are anchored in REALITY...
If you want a case of liberal unreality take a quick look in the economics forum at "increasing returns" thread. In case you don't know what a wet cell is that's the kind of battery all cars used to have and some still do.

Threats are one thing and phantom fears are another. Too many RW threats are little more than delusions and they are far too willing to commit mass murder (go to war on false pretenses) to assuage their fear. That is the big threat that haunts the left, another conservative rattling the saber and doing their best Reagan impression and succeeding where he failed to start WWIII. Talking all big and badass has it's place but we can't be fighting wars all the damn time just because the president feels he needs to act like John Wayne or some shit.

The left wants government to control every aspect of our lives - every concern they promulgate is for entrenchment; ulterior! Their persriptions are disastrous; they do the devil's bidding.

The gop is not to be trusted either, but they are the far worse of the two.

I don't know what each percieve as threats outside the threat of losing their power - I realy am dubious of the gop, and totally suspect of anything a liberal champions - we are reaping what the both have sown, and it's bad! I think the only groups that would put country first is the tea party, and or libertarians.

We need term limits badly, a much, much smaller government, and entitlement reform - the party is over!

Washington warned us to shed the parties in 1796...

The right see despots and repressive foreign military powers as potential threats while the left see American citizens who respect the Constitution and traditional values as a threat.

Cool, I find it intriguing that economic histories of the great depression of all stripes ignore wet cells in off the grid radios was a killer app for over selling electrification in the 1920s that caused multiple industries to reach maturation more or less simultaneously as a possible cause.

The U.S. was not involved in any major wars when Reagan was President there was no Cuban missile crisis type incidents either yet he was still able to restore Americas image on the world stage to one of strength and confidence given the state of Americas current image around the world following the Reagan model might not be a bad idea.

Reagan stood up to tyrants. Obama and Statists appease them as not to deal with them...and leave it rather to REAL leaders. Reagan understood evil exists...Statists kiss the feet of tyrants if NOT one themselves.

The right is very selective as to what despots, and repressive foreign military powers are considered threats! Anything that stands for freedom, or prosperity is a threat to liberal power.

It would be a very bad idea to threaten every life on this planet with atomic annihilation, that is what Reagan's toying with the balance of terror was all about, how soon we all have forgotten the stakes in that reckless game of chicken. Just because it all turned out OK that time does not mean that threatening the world with nuclear warfare is ever a sound strategy.

I'm aware of it but if you know of a history that deals with the battle directly leave me a visitor message so I can check prices at Amazon and B&N. Edison really made hay off that linesman in NYC who got fried and Tesla's lightening delivery system alternative didn't help matters either.

have you read any of the open source intelligence reports of that era or even Hedrick Smith's best sellers?

To the point that Edison electrocuted an elephant to make a feeble point.

Not really but I am assuming you are talking about all the times we ALL nearly died from paranoia and foolhardy bluffs.
