I don't pretend to understand economics. Neither what you are pushing, or what the Republicans are pushing. I do know that clever people of both stripes can manipulate the stats and the whys and wherefores to sell their own agenda. Obviously, something is wrong. Maybe we were in an unsustainable bubble that burst with the recession, and we are grumpily having to adjust to not living in a McMansion, not being able to retire at 62, needing to send the kids to state universities instead of Yale, etc. etc. I know it's actually a lot more serious than that for a lot of people, but they were never actually "middle class" to begin with. As usual, economic problems in this country hit the poor first and hardest.
