Down goes DOMA!!

Then you have a Simple liar in Redfish.

Don't you understand that 85% of America thinks the reactionary far right is the real enemy of our country and its goals?

:lmao: I've heard some "whoppers" in my day, but this might be the crown jewel! 42% of Americans identifies themselves as conservative. That alone proves your numbers are pure LIES. But what's even funnier is that an embarrassing 21% of Americans identifies themselves as liberals

And much of that conservative base (they are not Rushbo conservative by any means) think you far right reactionaries are their enemy of getting anything done. Much of that 42% belong to the 47 that Romney jumped on, you know, the ones who paid for their social security and medicare, the ones drawing military and VA pensions.

You apes to the far right simply climb trees and throw fruit and feces.

glad DOMA is gone. It was a red meat for the base piece of..... legislation anyway.

OTOH, if this is gone whatelse will you have to bitch about?

Interesting. The faux right has a long laundry list of bitches. It's all they do these days.

yeah, how awful it is to bitch when the government shits on the constitution and the citizens. have no fear, we are not going away. we will continue to demand that our government serves the people not the other way around.

did the "tyranny of the majority" elect obama twice? you are full of shit, wytchey.

Please tell us you can tell the difference between voting for candidates and voting on laws.

A vote is a vote! What difference does it make if its for a candidate or a law? If the Supreme Court decides tomorrow that Obama shouldn't have been elected, would you applaud his removal and Mitt Romney's appointment?

The stupidity in this post has so many levels! I'll just cover the two obvious ones.

First, if Obama was removed, Romney doesn't get to be President. :cuckoo:

Biden does.

Second, Obama cannot be removed unless there were...ohhhh...Constitutional grounds for doing so.

You know. Like there were Constitutional grounds for tossing DOMA.

Try to keep up.

You will demand the government serve the people. Like...cash and prizes for being married, amiright?

SCOTUS corrects the stupid, yes

the "far right" is no better than the "far left". the problem is that the far left now resides in the whitehouse and congress while the far right is 2% that has no power to do anything.

the vast majority of americans are center right on most fiscal issues and slightly center left on most social issues. The center should govern, but currently we have allowed the far left loons to take control.

OK, we have a disconnect from 42 to 2% as far right in this country.

Counsel, guys, and come back and tell us what it is.

And, no, Congress and the WH and SCOTUS are not 'far left'. What a boob statement.

sometimes, they did keep the idiot Gore from becoming president.

And the government served the people very nicely in this case, ensuring that law-abiding, tax-paying gay citizens are not deprived of the same government benefits as their law-abiding, tax-paying straight citizen counterparts.

Bully for them! :clap2:

try to pay attention: people who identify themselves as conservative 42%

the far fringe right--aryans, survivalists, skinheads etc 2%

now on your side: people who identify themselves as liberal 21%

the far fringe left---obama, holder, pelosi, hollywood: 19%

Okay, lots to look at here.

As others have pointed out, the Windsor decision only effects the FEDERAL definition of marriage. It does not address the 34 or so states that have written homophobia into their constitutions or laws because that was a big priority. Of course, that was never in dispute in this case. Windsor got her marriage in Canada and New York Recognized it. But is there a wink and a nod that they will strike it down if it comes up? I kind of think so.

I do find the Perry ruling to be strange. Why rule that the plaintiffs didn't have standing if you heard the case? I'm kind of getting the feeling that Kennedy didn't WANT to rule on this case. He doesn't want to be the guy who legalized gay marriage for the whole country. Judge Walker CAREFULLY crafted his decision citing Kennedy's past rulings in Roemner and Lawerence. So he was kind of stuck, and this was a graceful way out.

Hypothetically, a future CA governor could sue because he would have standing. Don't see that as likely, though.

Okay, you all can resume your screaming at each other.

they (you) already had equal benefits. the ruling was about marriage licenses in california.

Your figures are not based in reality, doctors will be replaced in droves, young kids have more care now than a year ago, the credit downgrade has hurt no one, who cares about China.

You are Simple, as well as wrong.

"Doctors will be replaced in droves"

"The credit downgrade has hurt no one"

And you call other simple? LOL!

By the way, even if doctors were ADDED in "droves" - there would still be a massive shortage of doctors. But "replacing" them - wow. You really are a simpleton if you think there are that many people running around with the IQ required to be a physician :cuckoo:

just one comment because your post is all bullshit.

it is not homophobic to object to gay marriage. Accepting that some people are gay is where most of america is today. wanting everyone to have equal rights is where most people are today.

VERY BIG DECISION -- all federal rights have just been granted to same-sex couples.

The wording of this decision puts all anti-gay laws into jeopardy.

Edith Windsor and Thea Spyer, had the absolute right to marry.

It is not the government’s job to say who gets married – it’s their job to passively record it when it happens,

Same-sex couples should certainly have the right to form any kind of legal arrangement they choose whereby medical and financial decisions by one party on behalf of another could be made.

Please see the Ninth and Tenth Amendments.
