Obama Policies Turning Egypt Against U.S. | Washington Free Beacon

The Obama administration support for Muslim Brotherhood Islamists in Egypt is driving the powerful military there against the United States and toward Moscow, according to U.S. officials and reports from the region.

The pro-Muslim Brotherhood stance is undermining decades of U.S. policy toward the Middle East state and prompting concerns that the United States is about to “lose” Egypt as a strategic partner, said officials familiar with intelligence reports.

Disclosure of the concern over the administration’s policy failure in Egypt comes as a security crackdown on pro-Muslim Brotherhood supporters in Cairo resulted in scores killed.

obama can't make a good decision. He dithers and has advisors like Susan Rice and John Kerry.

It won't be Obama's fault if Egypt returns to Moscow support. His minions will be sure to tell you it was someone else that caused it.

Obama wanted a muilti-powered world. He's going to get such a world...

A world of super powers wanting to rule once again(pre-wwII).

China, Russia, Iran, Japan, etc...

The left expects we will have peace? They want to cut our military out of that false belief??? These people are idiots and aren't nearly as intelligent as they think. lol

This is what happens when you lead from your behind..... like Obama does.

You don't lead anymore.

Simple as that.

You are all ignoring the aid money that we are currently giving the Egyptian military government. Doesn't really fit into any of your assertions of Obama's fawning love of the Brotherhood.

Though the soviets may be gone, I believe Egypt might prove the turning point in America's short attempt to build a new world order in its favor. Egypt's military will no doubt see this as a betrayal in its attempt to maintain order, and look for funding wherever it can get it. China and Russia are standing by. We could very well see in the future the same divisions as during the cold war, with many we attempted to help (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.) firmly in the new ring around Europe and not in the American interest camp. The only difference, their new...old...sponsors, are now beating us at our own game of Capitalism.

Egypt has the potential to become far worse than Syria.

Since Syria is parted to clans, and Egypt is a homogeneous nation.

I understand the point you're trying to make; but not. Syria has two factions. Extreme Muslims and those that are too scared to stand up to the extreme Muslims. Egypt has a significantly moderate base that is tired of the dictatorships and that's why they booted two of them within the last year or so.

It would save us a few billion bucks.

It would be like Russia paying us the billions Reagan funneled in there after the "Defeat of Communism".

I'm not worried about Egypt in the least....the generals will have to kill thousands of muslim brotherhood followers and they will.....this is the best outcome there could be for Egypt. And it was Ike who first got Nassar and Khruschev together by refusing Nassar arms to control his people. The soviets gave them the weapons and helped them complete the Aswan dam so there is a history between the two nations. They won't miss US aid either....the Saudis and others are pounding money into the Egyptian treasury.....everybody in the area wanted the muslim brotherhood gone from power.

Love that you put defeat of communism in quotes. Guess you're happy after all that America is devolving towards it.

Yes, but that government (it's not a dictatorship since it was democratically voted) is what the people wanted, isn't it?

That is why many nations don't support General Fatah-Al-Sisi and the war against the Muslim brotherhood, now.

Obama won't let that happen.

America should not be worried. Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon are in inner struggle.

The main worry is in Israel, since the whole area is on flames

I'd have to disagree; Syria is far more complex than that and large swaths of the rebels are secular nationalists under the FSA. Simply calling them religious extremists I think rather ignores the large diversity among political and militant groups within the country.

this was a given, of course they are.

putin has due to obamas ineptitude in FP, just been given what amounts to a doubling or tripling of influence and power and reach, ballooning Putins worth with no/or at no expense of his own.

....in short as our influence has waned and we have been cast as villains by all factions, Putin hasn't had to do much except do what obama has always been unable to do in this context- keep his mouth shut, Putin has expended no additional specie, made no additional promises etc....oh he will eventually, BUT- they are knocking on his door, which means its a sellers market....chess player vs checkers player...*shrugs* its clear who's who.

obama's response to the utter failure of his chaotic policies is predictable, have a party. The situation in Egypt must be serious, so the party must be seriously BIG.

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts throws power-packed Martha?s Vineyard soiree for Obama - NYPOST.com

A national leader that responds to crisis by having a party is beyond absurd.

You do realize that the entire world doesn't have to stop simply because there is unrest in Egypt. What exactly would you want Obama to do? Ignore everything else on the planet and stare itnently at a TV until things in Egypt play out?
