So Hillary declaring the reason for the attack and her failed actions that led up to it - which directly involved who attacked the compound and why - no longer mattered was in any way an appropriate response?

The reason she declared WHO attacked and murdered Stephens did not matter was because she KNEW it was a terrorist attack, KNEW she had already admitted that to a foreign rep and her daughter before lying about it to the American people. She KNEW the compound had been attacked twice before 9/11/12 BY TERRORISTS and that she had not only denied HUNDREDS of Stephens' requests for additional security but had stripped him of 14 members of his security detail AFTER those 2 attacks - her own e-mails showed / proved ALL of this.
-- When confronted about denying hundreds of Stephens requests, in her own e-mails, she LAUGHED about it and claimed she thought the HUNDREDS of requests were part of a JOKE and 'reflective of his sense of humor'.



Hillary was in full 'cover-up' mode and tried to get everyone else to suddenly agree with her that who attacked the compound and why didn't really matter so they would never get to her e-mails / the truth.

In the end, however, the only truth that really matters is THIS:

She and Obama knew there was a call for attacks on US embassies/compounds throughout the Middle east on 9/11/12. They KNEW every other country had pulled their people out before hand but still left Stephens in place. They KNEW an Al Qaeida leader had called for Stephens' assassination in retaliation for an Al Qaeida leader's (from Benghazi) death due to a drone strike earlier that month - told to them by the Mayor of Benghazi. They KNEW Stephens' compound had been attacked by terrorists twice in the weeks leading up to 9/11/12 - these were attacks to test the compound's defenses. The last attack left a 4-foot hole in the compound wall. Despite all of this Hillary and the State Department denied HUNDREDS of requests from Stephens for more security - the man was BEGGING FOR HIS LIFE. AFTER the 2 terrorist attacks on his compound Hillary and the State Department not only did not give him more security but TOOK AWAY 14 members of his security detail!

They ignored threat warnings.
They ignored 2 terrorist attacks on his compound.
They ignored the actions of other nations who protected their people.
They denied him of the additional security he needed.
They took away security he needed, putting his security team far below the level it needed to be.
Stephens shouldn't have ever been there on 9/11/12.
He should have been ordered out when every other nation pulled their people.
He should NOT have been denied the security he asked for.
His security team should never have been cut, ESPECIALLY since they knew he had been attacked before and - according to them - knew the military would never get there in time if another / major attack happened.

Thank you for your service, our soldiers are fantastic, but 90% of them should be nowhere near gov't policy.

Yeah, we need Socialist assholes who hate the military, who are Islamic Extremist sympathizers running the military, politicians who will call terrorist attacks son our military 'workplace violence' who will by-pass Congress to drag the country into the middle of civil wars between terrorists and dictators, like in Syria and Libya. We need guys who will lie about 'Al Qaeida is on the run' and the 'War on Terror is over' so he can be re-elected.

The Military is a tool of the government, one that should be the very last resort to accomplish a political objective. They are highly trained to conduct / engage in war. Once the decision is made to go to war, the CiC should give a clear goal / objective for the military and then 'turn them loose'. He can monitor and continue to make decisions, modify goals, but the last thing he should ever do is attempt to micro-manage military operations.

The US tried to do that in Viet Nam, and it turned out to be a disaster. At one point our govt was actually filing flight plans with the North Vietnamese civilian air traffic control agencies, letting them know our bombers were coming in, where exactly we were going, and what time we would get there.... at which time we would arrive to find the enemy had cleared out - imagine that.

But I was wrong. It was about preventing loss of life. From what I understand the building had a fortified safe room but the air pumps or exhaust fans were not installed. Had they been, the rescue team would likely have found Smith and Stephens alive.
