Ireland's official language is Gaelic, so with the UK out of the EU, English will cease to have status within the EU. Scotland's official language is English, so if they leave the UK and join the EU, English can remain as one of the official languages of the EU.

sounds ok to me , if the English / brits are out let the 'eu' do as it likes Monte .

Irish is the "national" language under the constitution. If Ireland claims English as their national language then Irish would be dropped as one of the EU languages.

And Ireland will not be leaving the EU will it, as it is not part of the Union. For N.I. to leave would cost the Irish more than their next 100 years GDP, same goes for Scotland and Wales. Try reading the articles of Union for a change, instead of just making things up.
By the way the EU is looking close to folding over the migrant crisis as Britain has closed its borders to them and the French have had to close down the camp.
