Russia had a valid interest in its borders after WWII, where is lost over 39 million people.
The US was evil for trying to make Russia paranoid and for starting NATO.
Russia did not colonize or steal from Eastern Europe, but instead spent lots of money rebuilding them.
That is totally unlike how the US takes over countries in order to drain them.

She is not entirely incorrect though it is still Russian aggression that started the war it was predicated on piss poor FP under Obama, the non response in aggression earlier under both Bush and Obama and our direct meddling in Ukraine's elections.

And we can add to that Trump managing to make NATO mistrust our leadership and Biden absolutely obliterating said trust in the Afghanistan withdrawal and his actively fighting against sanctions on Russia that really mattered.

We should have sanctioned the piss out of Russia back when Crimea was taken.

The Ukraine has always been an important agricultural region to Russia.
Russia can not survive without it.
Nor should they, since by treaty, the Ukraine is bound to Russia.
The current conflict was caused by the Ukraine deliberately violating treaties, like stealing oil, murdering ethnic Russians, trying to get NATO nukes, breaking off negotiations, etc.

So, your view is that the Ukraine should do what it's told by daddy Russia? That it is essentially a vassal state like Belarus and Kazakhstan?

Russia's "interests" stopped at its borders. It wasn't legally or morally justified in invading and subjugating its neighbors and lying to its allies about post-war free and democratic elections to determine the governments of those countries.
The Russians have always been paranoid, and NATO was started to DEFEND against a Russia that had already broken its word to its allies and was busy erecting the Iron Curtain to keep its people IN, not the west out.
As for "building up" the Warsaw Pact countries, that's a laugh. East Germany was one of the better countries and West Germany had to spend trillions of marks upgrading its infrastructure and repairing the ecological damage the Russians were responsible for.
