Hospital says the kid was brain-dead but then they always say that so they can sell the organs.

Father brings gun to hospital to buy time for his ‘brain dead’ son

dec 22 2015 HOUSTON — A Texas father has been released from jail after police say he brought a gun to a hospital to stop the staff from taking his son off of life support.

George Pickering II’s son was declared “brain-dead” after he suffered a massive stroke in January. The hospital ordered a “terminal wean” which is a process that slowly ends a person’s life by removing life support. The staff had even notified an organ donation organization that Pickering’s son was a donor.

Pickering decided to take matters into his own hands and marched into Tomball Regional Medical Center with a gun.

After hours of negotiation, Pickering surrendered peacefully and was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

One of the charges has been dismissed and the other was lessened. Pickering was given credit for the time he served in jail and was released in December.

Because of people like SS, we can do the humane thing for a dog but not for a person. What an insane, and utterly stupid, society.

I'm all for letting people die when they can't be saved. But frequently the hospital lies about these things because they want to sell the organs. THINK

Bullshit, total. Organ donation is Non-profit.

Drunks with guns always know everything better than anybody else.

What's the son's status? Did he rise from his bed and say "It's a miracle! Praise Jesus! Muh Daddy saved my life!"?

Hospitals are gun free zones…so it didn't happen….right?

Pickering, however, wasn’t ready to let go — now, his son, George Pickering III, is still alive and well because of it.

My niece is an er doc, they had a crazy dude grab a cop's gun in their er the other night and pop one off into a filing cabinet.

I told her a good doctor would have shared a video on facebook.

Okay, then. The takeaway here should be: Always have a health proxy. Make sure your doctor has a copy and, especially, make sure you name someone to make decisions for you if you're unable to speak, and make sure that person has a copy.

Then Daddy won't have to endanger other patients in the hospital by showing up drunk and waving a gun around.

Aren't you the same conspiracy gobbler that said that our blood donations weren't screened and that Obama wanted everyone to get AIDS?

Why would any rational person accept your insane nonsense as anything other than the gibbering ramblings of a deranged mind?

Obviously if anyone in the picture has brain issues, it was not the male who was laying in that bed!

God bless you and him and his family always!!!

Holly

P.S. To me, because of how the hospital was going to handle the situation, the patient should be compensated in some way.
