Correction,Sean Connery was James Bond and Roger Moore was a close second and all the others were imposters.
As someone else said earlier,Moore was very good in the role he just got stuck with bad scripts. He would have been great with the early scripts connery had..Moore is actually my fave between the two, loved his sarcasm.
Moore’s legs were too skinny , Bond needed to be able to be in a knife fight in a train car Sleeper with Robert Shaw .Moore’s sarcasm came straight from the Saint. Moore just transferred his Simon Templar character to the Bond movies. I loved both characters just not in the same movie.
1. Daniel Craig. He gave the intense gravitas to what was actually needed.I still think Sean Connery best exemplified James Bond.

2. Sean Connery. He was my favorite Bond until Craig came along. His glibness in some scenes would throw it off a bit.
3. Pierce Brosnan.
4. Timothy Dalton.
5. George Lazenby.
6. Roger Moore. Roger Moore better reflected Bond with his physical appearance in the books, but otherwise, he sucked, and his Bond films became cartoonish.
7. David Niven. He was always a top-notch actor, however, the Bond film, Casino Royale, was merely a comedic parody of Ian Fleming's book and thus I give no credit to it at all.
8. Barry Nelson (aka: Jimmy Bond), well I never actually saw it, so won't grade him at all.
Craig would have made it seem that Robert Shaw was Fighting a Midget in that train Car SleeperThis would be my list, and I agree with your comments. I also think that physcially, Craig was physically closer to Fleming's description of Bond.
Especially the Women VillainsBond is a prop. The villains have the better roles.
Pierce Brosnan. No discussion about it.I still think Sean Connery best exemplified James Bond.

Wrong. The best was Brosnan and the second best was Connery. The worst was Moore and Dalton. I've never seen one of those Craig films so I can't judge but the trailers don't look anything like Bond films as far as I can tell.
He was the worst Bond actor except fir maybe Lazenby wooden as hell.they never should have replaced Dalton,he was far better, very underrated Bond actor Brosna totally overrated.i run into people all the thst say the same thing that he was not gelieveable as bond at all,way too wooden.
Dalton belonged on a homo-stage and Moore belonged in a store-shop window standing completely still. Neither of them had any character beyond that of a street lamp.Dalton is a Midget , and Moore had the skinny leg syndrome
Brosnan best, that is comedy at its best. Wrong you are.oh and Moore brought an added demension to Bond with his sarcasm, they Just gave him campy scripts when he took over .he always had people Rolling in the seats with laughter in the good bond movies like the spy who loved me saying to Jaws How’s that grab you?Wrong. The best was Brosnan and the second best was Connery. The worst was Moore and Dalton. I've never seen one of those Craig films so I can't judge but the trailers don't look anything like Bond films as far as I can tell.
most Bond fans agree with you rampart .it almost always comes down to Moore or connery being the best bond with connery usually winning most the time.connery. with a roger moore second place.
best villian?: gold finger
So, you don't understand the difference between personal character and the written script that he didn't write? No, you don't...... Moore brought an added demension to Bond with his sarcasm ..... always had people Rolling in the seats with laughter ..... like the spy who loved me saying to Jaws How’s that grab you?
