Federal Judge Blocks Obama Drilling Moratorium

Does this mean BP will only have to pay for the people it put out of work for it's cock-up and not the ones Obama put out of work for his?

well, I guess us federal tax payers are off the hook in helping louisiana if they have another gusher accident from one of these 33 companies that were temporarily on hold.....
The moratorium makes as much sense as shutting down all freeway travel in L.A. because of a wreck on the 405.

so, are we off the hook as tax payers or NOT, if one of those 33 have a mishap? :D

Yeah, as long as you don't use any oil you should be off the hook....

The odds against it are so long as to be laughable.

Yet more evidence that it's amateur hour at the White House.

IIRC, Florida has never approved off shore drilling but LA has...therefore it makes sense that LA is responsible for any oil that drifts our way.

Why isn't Bobby Jindall addressing this fact?

Keep a drillin with no changes in safety regs. We need another spill that the right will want the taxpayers to pay to clean up.

how about we let BP continue to drill if they do it with the skipped safety measures we all use now. Again 1,000 safe ones, BP skimpted on safety equiptment every chance they got. Also Obama fills the volkswagon with clowns from enviro-nazi groups and 1 engineer.
Child Please

Sure if they drill in as safe as they can manner.
But to turn them loose again with no changes in safety regs or enforcement....

Stoopit.

Indeed, it's come to this...

Iran Offers to Rescue Obama from Oil Spill Mess - Politics & Gov't - Israel News - Israel National News

However, Iran is ready to rescue President Obama if he requests help, the semi-official Fars News Agency reported Tuesday. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast underlined Tehran's technical capability to help the United States control the oil spill and the resulting slick, which he said is a "humanitarian issue."

One day earlier, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, otherwise known as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), offered to provide experts to help the Americans. "The experience of Iranians' presence in curbing oil spills in a number of neighboring states in the Persian Gulf, such as Kuwait, demonstrates Iranian capabilities and skills, and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is ready to help curb the oil spill,” Commander of the IRGC's Khatam ol-Anbia Headquarters General Rostam Qassemi stated.

“If Americans and Britons and also the Western companies find themselves incapable of capping the oil spill, [they can] ask Iran, [we] will study the case, and send… IRGC experts to the region to help prevent the continuation of this serious crisis,” Qasemi added.

It would at least be consistent of him if Obama took them up on the offer. After all, we already turned down help from our friends and allies.

Let's pretend for a moment that you own a zillion dollar oil rig (a stretch, I know).

Would you leave such an expensive piece of equipment open to the same type of catastrophic failure that the BP rig had, if you could possibly avoid it, or would you risk that huge capital investment and wait around for some pencil pilot from the District of Criminals tell you to do with that rig?

What Specifically is Wrong with the Current Regulations?...

You can't Answer that, can you?... Yappy.

How about this for the Word of the Day: Enforcement.

Now that we have Established the REAL Issue... Where does the Buck Stop?

:)

peace...

 Be my guest...you don't set the prices and neither does LA.

can't wait to see your oily beaches bitch

News just breaking that the judge in Louisiana has blocked Obama's drilling ban. I'll post a link when more comes out

Will BO loose his cool again after hearing this?

This 6 month thing was stupid.

Yes, a good check of Safety Procedures was in order, but 6 months? that was crazy.

Oh those pesky little laws keep us from doing what we want. Worked just fine in Illinois. Should work here in the capital will get us an activist judge, yeah that's the ticket.

Oh good grief. One accident in 30 years and suddenly they'll be a weekly occurence????

Let's have a little intellectual honesty here and less fear mongering.

But as to the issue in this thread, the irony is so funny I can't stop giggling. Oh this is exactly the kind of stuff the left has been pulling for years on industry and the military suddenly flipped. If this was being done to a rational government policy, I'd be having a fit, but since it's obvious this is being done to harm the economy and environment to artificially exacerbate the crisis... I've no problem with this.
