See....this guy used a gun to defend his home....sadly for him, he is a convicted felon and can't touch a gun let alone own one or carry one....or even use one in a justifiable defense of his home.....he is now going to jail.....

FAYETTEVILLE 3 charged including homeowner in home invasion - WNCN News Weather Raleigh Durham Fayetteville

Hawk and Douglas have both been charged with common law robbery, breaking and entering, and felonious conspiracy. They were both acting on GPS monitoring through N.C. Probation and Parole.

Williams was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said that the home invasion did not appear to be random.

Without knowing what felony he was convicted of, it's hard to know whether to have sympathy. Most people feel that violent felons should never touch a firearm, but with the increased felonization of America, many non violent felons are being unconstitutionally disarmed. Did you disable a smoke alarm? Felony. Did you shoplift at Abercrombie and Fitch with intent? Felony. Lie to the FBI? Felony. Insider trading? Felony.

But in this case, a gun was brought into the home against his will and used to threaten the home owner. I don't see a chance this will actually result in a conviction.

It does point out how using a gun as a felon is risky business......
