Emailing my brother about the Fukushima radiation concerns, him being a surfer, I advised him not to surf off California without first checking the day's rad-count. He happened to mention he could see the tsunami debris from the airliner he was on. Was stunned he could see it from a plane so I googled around. It's MUCH worse than I'd thought.

Article clarifies what other news outlets are sensationalizing as 'a debris island 3 times the size of Great Britain' or 'the size of Texas.' The areas of higher concentration are that big, but there is no island of debris per se'. Just areas with higher concentrations. Still, that's a lot of garbage coming our way. And being the result of a tsunami, isn't just plastic bags and other garbage, but probably a few dead bodies too.
