I can hear the snickers now from people all over the world who go through every day of their lives in fear of a bomb going off where they live and work. A lot probably think we're getting our just deserts.

Blood in the Meadows, a little-known novel written in 2010 tells of the frustration authorities face, even when they know a terrorist attack is imminent. In that case, terrorists plan to attack The Strip and Downtown on New Year's Eve.

And similar attacks occur every single day in markets and other public gatherings. If one, or a group, is dedicated enough, there is little anyone can do to stop them.

Also, what happens when we have become so politically correct that average citizens ignore overt signals that such an attack is about to occur because they don't want to be charged with being racist for pointing those things out.

And, here's some reactions:

Are more attacks coming? With our current lack of border security, why not? With so many gathering places and events where large numbers of people attend, what's to stop it from happening again?

:salute:
