Gas prices and a stupid opinion from an actor

Capitalism has always been impacted by governmental policies, there has never been an example of pure capitalism in any country.

Why do you seem to think this is something new?
I didn’t say it was anything new, stupid. Why ask fake questions? But once the irrational governmental policies and direct and indirect interference in the market takes place, it is almost as stupid as you are to claim that we should blame capitalism for this disjunction.

The fact is, dopey actor doesn’t know what he’s taking about. What else is new?

He played a significant character on a good show. This qualifies him as an expert in capitalism and the price of gasoline. 🙄
No. I forgot he existed till you started this thread, and some random chick from the internet called him a nothing. I'm sorry he's not as relevent as Scott Baoi and Jon Voight.

Nobody cares that you forgot him. He is hardly the point, you silly troll dimwit. He was a good actor on a good show. So what? That doesn’t make him an expert in economics, supply and demand, capitalism or the petroleum industry.

Your boy crushes are equally irrelevant. Is there any chance you can address the thread topic?

Breaking Bad actor says something truly stupid about gas prices:

I’m wondering how he imagines these ridiculous gas prices have any honest relationship to “capitalism?”
Does he even know that government makes more revenue in taxes per gallon of gas than oil companies?

In fact, does anyone thanks to the government controlled media?

Then there is a little thingy about governments around the world declaring war on fossil fuels

Could that have anything to do with it?

Na.

He was only one of the biggest actors on one of the biggest TV shows to ever exist. I'm sorry he wasn't on a Superman radio serial, you dinosaur.

Yeah, but his role was minor.

Capitalism is only the "profit motive", so all prices in the US are caused by capitalism.
There would only be due to something else, like socialism, if the people pooled resource, built a collective oil company, and then charged what ever they wanted.

If you are implying that the price is due to the government, that would be wrong because the federal gas tax is only about 23 cents a gallon.
If you want to blame it on reduced federal land leases, that makes no sense because most land is not federal, and most current leases are not even being drilled currently.

That would require drilling permits.

It's not government but policy that's responsible. Every measure Dementia has taken has been anti-energy. This is quite the contrast to the last President that was pro-energy. That's why we were paying between $2.00 and $3.00 a gallon, and today we're paying between $5.00 and $7.00 depending on what state you're in.

Ahh for the good old days when actors acted, athletes played, singers sang, dancers danced and otherwise shut their yaps about politics.

They were much smarter back in the day. When you take a stance on policies, about a third of your followers could care less. Another third agrees with you. The last third gets totally pissed off at you. The actors back in the day were smarter because it makes no sense to piss off a third of the people that are responsible for your wealth. Keep your mouth shut about politics and everybody is happy.

and yet the private companies in that sector are making profits like never before.

weird.

Nothing weird about it. That's the way it's always been. They make great profit now to offset when they were making much, much less. That's how market driven businesses work.

Just because you're an actor doesn't somehow make your opinion more relevant.

And anyone who ends a off the cuff demand with shit the fuck is someone I immediately ignore. As if it weren't already bad enough he talked to people as if he were scolding a child.

He isn't that important though. He happened to be there when others were making a beloved series. Just because you're on breaking bad doesn't make you special.

One of the problems today is too many people listen to those that make their living by portraying someone they are not. While the character they portray may seem relevant, the actor rarely is. Some of the older posters may remember that actors from the movie "China Syndrome" were called to congress to testify about nuclear reactor safety. It"s the old "I may not be a doctor, but I play one on TV" attitude.

You know how the commies love their dog and pony shows. In fact we have one going on right now called the 1/6 investigation.

Johnny Carson totally understood that. He was the consummate late night show host and I never once heard him get political. Just take a look at what political bias has done to late night. It's unwatchable by the all but hardcore Leftists.

Hope he continues his his support of capitalism when the price of corn goes to $50 a bushel or more and his paycheck remains stagnant.

*****SMILE*****

:)

It won't bother him a bit. I'm sure he's got money to burn. The last people he thinks about are those who's budgets are strangled by the price of fuel; people with children who are now paying much more for heat and electricity in their homes, and of course more than double the price of gasoline. But they're leftists. They are out of touch with reality.

This moron says anybody that supports capitalism should STFU. I say anybody stupid enough to vote for Dementia and the Democrats should STFU. They caused this and I hope they are suffering the most.
