The highest membership count I've seen for the ACP is 500. It is not the American Academy of Pediatricians, which supposedly has a membership in the 60,000 range. From what I've read, the AAP does not endorse this message.

You'll forgive me, I hope, if I find the idea of setting government policy based on a very small, conservative pediatrician's organization over the larger and much longer-established AAP to be a bad plan.
