he was prussian if i remember correctly. was the prussian king a "kaiser" or did that come with bismarck? was von steuben sent by his king? or another of the shady european freemasons that franklin hung out with?

as slow as news, and people traveled in those days, i wonder that , even in berlin (or was it "brandenburg? at that time) the war might have been over before most people heard about it.
