A judge has rejected a lawsuit filed by Republican Party officials in Georgia that sought to cast doubt on the security of voting machines that will be used across the state in the upcoming 2024 election.

Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee noted in his ruling issued Friday that the equipment remains certified and the consequences of potential security risks “are – at this point – purely hypothetical.”

The failed lawsuit, filed by GOP officials in DeKalb County and a familiar cast of pro-Trump lawyers just weeks before early voting begins in Georgia, argued the Dominion voting machines are not in compliance with Georgia law. The officials wanted the secretary of state’s office to make voting records and ballot images available for public inspection within 24 hours of the election.

Remember - this isn't the first time a state has thrown out these kinds of bogus claims. All designed to put hurdles in the way of legitimate voting. Here is one case back in May.

I guess if you know your side will lose, you will try anything to prevent the legitimate vote counting.

Yes, any future event is going to be "hypothetical." How does such an illogical person even get into law school?

The right’s war on democracy continues.

This meritless, bad-faith lawsuit is intended to lay the groundwork for future meritless, bad-faith claims of fraud intended to disenfranchise the voters of Georgia.
Who is being "disenfranchised?" If you want to vote, then vote. Voting is pretty simple and about as easy as it gets these days.

So, if I claim that green men from Mars may hijack our elections and we would need to spend a billion dollars to prevent it, you would agree?

I agree with one qualification. This is the MAGA way - the modern Fascist party.

Lying about minorities? Trying to prevent voting? Check & Check.

Anything and everything to hold on to power. Damn, the principles. Anything goes.
Progs started threats, the physical attacks and worse on judges. And frankly, a percentage seem to make law. Deconstructing the United States.

The top Democrat in the entire party, Senate majority leader Schumer told the SCOTUS "they will reap the whirlwind".
