Obamacare, my conclusion.

I have a mild ear problem. I was able to see my primary doctor right away, who referred me to a specialist. My appointment is next march. My ear will likely have cleared itself up by then.
Where?

'Cause I had an ear infection that wouldn't clear up with antibiotics and got in to see an ENT later that same week earlier this year.

As the husband of an RN that was practicing before and after ObamaCare, I do agree it has been a failure.

There are a lot of hidden parts to it that are driving nurses from the bedside.

One of the biggest of which was the ACA trying Medicare reimbursements rates to patient satisfaction surveys. The reason this does not work is that what is good for the patient often does not make them very happy. When the nurse will not unhook the patient from their oxygen so they can go outside and smoke, they leave a bad rating. When the nurse will not let the 350 pound non-compliant diabetic eat the extra large pizza their family member brought them, they leave a bad rating.

Hospitals spend extra money trying to make the hospital more like a Holiday Inn, this leaves less money for staff. The first to get cut are Techs, making the Nurse reasonable for the little things they did. Then nurses get cut and the patient to nurse ratio increases, on top of them doing the work of a Tech. It is not only unsafe, but it burns out the nurses and they leave the bedside where they are the most needed. This puts even more stress on the nurses, which drives even more of them away.

This is not going to end well if something does not change.

To see a specialist its a 4 month wait... To get an MRI its 2 months.... so you can be in severe pain for 6 to 9 months before you even see a surgeon..... that is what broken healthcare looks like.
Also.... its time to make big pharma commercials and ads illegal...
Not even close to true.

We simply don't need government telling us how to do health care, nor health insurance. Let people decide for themselves how they want to finance their health care.

You must live where there is a shortage of medical professionals.

Do you live a rural area?
Dude nowhere can you get an MRI in a week unless you are in a fucking coma... I know what I'm talking about both my ex wife and my daughter are nurses... my ex wife's husband is a urologist... so don't try and bullshit me on anything medically related....

Bullshit....

Nope, 100% true. Just went though it. Even have a thread about my shoulder problems.

The only wait I had was that I had to do 15 sessions of physical therapy before the insurance would approve the MRI.

One it was approved I was in there in less than a week. Once the results came back and my PCM sent the information to the Ortho they called me on the 2nd and my Appt is the 16th.

You are mistaken.

That ships has sailed a long time ago

Perhaps that is the case where you live, it is not the case here.

First of all they don't do physical therapy before they can see an MRI... the therapy can do a lot of damage and they have to see what's going on first... you are lying....

Nope, I am not. You are wrong, as is the norm for you.

You didn't say you had it x-rayed... in that case they were able to see what the problem was so the wrong therapy wouldn't do something bad to you... but most MRI's are for much more serious problems as in the spine or brain... I was correct to say they need to see imaging whether its an x-ray or MRI before using physical therapy... or they can really hurt people...
I'm betting you didn't even need an MRI....
My problem was much more serious and I don't live in a crowded city... we have four imaging centers but my insurance plan with Dignity only allows me to go to one of theirs...
I could have driven 150 miles to a VA hospital but the wait wasn't much better... so I did what my doctor advised...
WE shouldn't have to wait so long for relief... Obama care did this to us....
