I never knew such a thing existed!!! LOL!!!

GM's Motorama exhibit in 1956 featured a film that looked into the far distant future of 1976 with predicted a jet age future with electronic digital displays and an On Star like central command that would guide us along our uncrowded path to adventures.

Short films like this, often referred to as "retro-futurism" come from a different era, where technology was generally viewed as a good thing that will solve our problems and not, as most believe today, a societal evil that we can't live without but simultaneously fear.

If you like that kind of thing, I recommend ...

or

both of these shorts have been made eminently more watchable by the MST3k gang with running commentary.

Ah, America. Bring back the 1950s! (I barely remember them, but bring back America of the 1950s).

Great things about America in the '50s...
Fashion (New Look and men in hats)
Cars with style
New suburbs

Not so great things about America in the '50s ...

Institutional racism / sexism
Segregated schools
Limited access to ethnic foods

Yes! Bring back the 50s! Complete with 90% tax brackets and heavy union membership.

I'm sure you people would love it.

No one paid 90%.

And we manufactured almost all of what we needed and exported a lot of manufactured goods.

One man with one job, with an occasional moonlighting job, and they bought houses and the wife did her job as a stay-at-home mother.

But not many people are happier nowadays.
