If the woman already made the decision, what is it you think you're helping her with?

Naw, I take that back because, in a way, I agree with you that our priorities are seriously screwed up. Fact is, abortion has been a part of the human experience since the second pregnancy. The pubs can outlaw abortion but nothing will ever stop them from being done.

If we were honest and if we were truly compassionate, we would face that fact and proceed from there. We would make abortion as painless and easy for the fetus AND for the woman as possible.

We care more about the method we use to kill murderers than we do this.

There will always be people who believe they have the right to control the personal and private lives of other people. They'll use some trumped up religion or any other way they can find to force others to do what they wish them to.

Until that changes, our methods of abortion will be barbaric and cruel.

Nonetheless, its no one business but the woman's.

I'm a conservative thru and thru but if people are sexually active I'd prefer to give those individuals access to free birth control. Let alone condoms to stop the phenomenal rise in STD's.

I'm not going to be judgemental on someone's lifestyle choices or a couple's decision to limit their family in this day and age. I'm pro life, but shit happens in people's lives and I understand that.

I just wish everyone would try to find an appropriate solution of prevention of an unwanted pregnancy. Not dealing with the "after".

We just keep seeming to go round in circles while too many abortions are being performed and we're snuffing out lives and burdening a woman with the emotional scars of her decision.

As someone said above, its a way of controlling the woman's decision and therefore, very invasive.

An ultrasound is not "mental/emotional" invasive. It is scientifically informative and educational. I support science and education so that one can make informed decisions.
An abortion is much more mentally traumatizing (and physically traumatizing).

I've known women who have regretted their "hasty, uninformed and panicked" choices. They carry their pain silently.

On the other hand I've known women who've been between a rock and a hard place but had no option due to certain circumstances at certain points in their lives. They've been scarred by the ordeal but really had no choice (abusive relationships they were trying to get out of and some other equally nightmarish situations like date rape).

Counselling should always be part of this decision process.
