GOP lawmaker: those with pre-existing conditions may need to move

I hope to god the moderate GOP folks stand strong and crush this asinine bill! Its NOT what President Trump told us he wanted in a healthcare bill and I am hoping he is letting the extremists hang themselves so he can be a deal maker and get something done with moderate dems and moderate republicans like the tuesday group.

From everything I have read so far, keeping Pre-existing conditions in any health care plan is one of the key pieces being insisted upon by the vast majority of Republicans.

One thing I can not see ANY politician being able to regulate or dictate onto a private business, like an insurance company is this:

You have to cover pre-existing conditions AND you must make it 'affordable'. Is the govt dictating to an insurance company they must fulfill BOTH requirements, even if doing so causes them to lose money.

(That has to be where subsidies for insurance companies comes in, right - to prevent that from happening...because no one is going to provide a service when it causes them to lose money.)

This is what the GOP has become.

Because of what the DNC became - a group that forced a minority-supported piece of Liberal/ Socialist Agenda that was based on lies down the throats of the majority of Americans who opposed it.

Snowflakes love to try to skip the fact that we are where we are now because Obama and Democrats 1st did THAT.

Pre-existing conditions?

Let em die....We need a wall

I'm getting really sick and tired of these goddamn conservatives. They're a cancer.
Yeah, how DARE they have such a hard time trying to 'UN-FU@K' the health care mess the Democrats / Obama created and left them!

:p

There is bipartisan support for covering pre-existing conditions, always has been. There was always bipartisan support for a short list of common sense healthcare reforms. The 2,000 plus page government take over and tax increases Obama and asshole Dem's crammed through was not it.

This is what the GOP has become.
A good chunk yes. Unfortunately the leader of the "freedom caucus" Meadows is my congressman....the people here love the idiot...not a clue WHY. We aren't a desperately poor area but we aren't rich like Asheville is either. The man is a nut job.

You mean by keeping the good Obamacare stuff like pre conditions, but eliminating the bad stuff that actually pays for it?!!

GOP can't have it both ways. It's impossible.

If / Once the Democrats take back over the House and Senate, they will 'fix' the ACA....by fully funding it, using any and all tax dollars required to prop up the collapsing program they promised would pay for itself and would never cost a dime.

:p

Ummm, excuse me, snowflake, but it was Obama and the Democrats who declared the ACA would PAY FOR ITSELF, THAT IT WON'T COST A DIME.

IMO, the Republicans should hold their feet to the fire and not allocate a dime to it....unless they want to publicly hold a press conference and all admit that they lied their asses off to the American people...(which people already know they did).

'Pre-existing conditions' were the single most often cited part of the ACA that Republicans referenced whenever the question of what in the ACA would STAY.

Now, we know they were even lying about that.
No we don't. Your opinion is based off one man / a small majority thinks. Gawd, I hate liberal spin / propaganda.

EXTREMISTS are the cancer....on things like this the moderates need to meet.....the Tuesday Group and unfortunately a VERY small group in the democrats like Manchin,Dent,Heitkamp etc. need to get together and make a damn deal with President Trump.

The sad thing is this battle over health care for Americans has become a personal / political battle between 2 parties with the American people and doing what is best for THEM being totally forgotten about / ignored..again.

So your claim is that no Republicans ever insisted that the pre-existing conditions protections of Obamacare would be continued in the GOP replacement?

Really? Dang.

ObamaCare repeal gains votes and momentum

"Reps. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and Billy Long (R-Mo.) on Wednesday said they would support the GOP’s ObamaCare repeal-and-replace bill with the addition of an amendment, giving the effort new momentum as GOP leaders push toward a floor vote.

The two Republicans made the announcement at the White House after meeting with President Trump.

"I think it is likely now to pass the House,” Upton said.

The new amendment from Upton would provide $8 billion over five years to help people with pre-existing conditions afford their premiums in states that are granted a waiver from ObamaCare’s protections.

The liberal Center for American Progress estimated on Tuesday that the high-risk pools are underfunded by much more: $200 billion over 10 years.

The GOP bill already includes $130 billion over 10 years, which was not swaying many moderates as of Tuesday."

At least the GOP's proposal puts $138 Billion towards the $200 Billion dollar ACA HOLE for pre-existing conditions. That's a lot of money to replace a collapsing system that was sworn not to cost a dime and that would pay for itself.

"a group that forced a minority-supported piece of Liberal/ Socialist Agenda that was based on lies down the throats of the majority of Americans who opposed it"

Obama won won the election, the Dems won the majorities in 2008 in House and Senate, and SCOTUS opined that ACA was constitutional.

Does not matter how much anyone does not like ACA, but those are the facts.

So your claim is that no Republicans ever insisted that the pre-existing conditions protections of Obamacare would be continued in the GOP replacement? Really? Dang.
No, propaganda-spreading snowflake. I am saying the majority of Republicans I have heard. have insisted on that being one of the main pieces kept.
