The White House is trying to lift sanctions on ONE Russian Oligarch. OV Deripaska...the guy that Manafort gave polling data to and the guy he owed millions to and hoped his position in the Trump Campaign would "make him whole".

SO much for Trump being "tough on Russia" huh?

And oh gee...the GOP Senate...filibustered keeping those sanctions in place.

Actually they are trying to lift sanctions on ONE COMPANY not ONE MAN. The sanctions on HIM would stay. Why? Because the sanctions are hurting the US and Europe and Canada etc etc...Unintended consequences of the sanctions placed.

Guess you missed the REST of what I wrote. Its hurting the US and Canada and Europe with the sanctions on the COMPANY,the sanctions on the PERSON would remain.

The Treasury Department says the Russian companies have committed to separating from Deripaska, who will remain blacklisted as part of an array of measures announced in early April that target tycoons close to the Kremlin. Treasury has warned that keeping the sanctions in place could upset global aluminum markets or even prompt the Russian government to nationalize the company, thus shutting it out from any outside control.
