GOP rejects comparisons to Reagan’s late-term SCOTUS nominee

These people simply refuse to govern. Time to send the lot of them packing, again...

“It doesn’t really matter what they’ve done, what Reagan did back in ‘87. It was in ‘87 when he nominated him, so obviously it was still earlier in the year. If this was November, October or September of last year where the president had more than a year left in office, then perhaps this would be a different discussion,” Rubio said."
GOP rejects comparisons to Reagan's late-term SCOTUS nominee

"On Feb. 3, 1988, McConnell and literally every other GOP senator voted to confirm Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. This was during President Ronald Reagan's last year in the White House, and at a time when Democrats controlled the Senate. Kennedy was confirmed 97-0, with three Democrats -- Joe Biden, Al Gore and Paul Simon -- not voting at all because, presumably, they were busy running for president that year."
Mitch McConnell Voted To Confirm A Supreme Court Justice In Reagan's Final Year

The timing changes nothing. Obama still has just shy of a year in office, boys.
There is a difference though.

Reagan was well liked and had authority.

Nobody likes Obama.

Nobody trusts Obama..

Not even you.

Barry is damaged goods, we need to move on.
Barry is the POTUS. Following the Constitution means he and the Senate fill this open seat, this year.

Show where in the Constitution it states that the Senate has to do it this year. You can't, it doesn't, you are a retard.
Why would this year be any different than say, last year? Oh right, it isn't. Tell us, was the Original Intent for the Senate to not do its job?

Do you think Scalia would be pleased about the Senate ignoring the Constitution?
Don't you understand?? Barry is walking out the door...
He could put any whack a doodle in there and not give two shits about it, he has piss poor judgement(obamacare).
He's damaged goods... Don't let the door smack him in the ass when he's leaving...
Lol

Wouldn't matter a damn even if any of that nonsense were true. It doesn't say obey the Constitution, if you like the guy that is, now does it?

Dummy, what part of the Senate advising do you not understand?

Dems poisoned the water with their Bork and then Clarence Thomas antics
Both bad but one was confirmed, as have several since then. As Justice Scalia would have said, Get Over It!

You invented Borking, now you have to live with it. As they say payback is a barack
Okay, let's play that game. He got an Up or Down vote, so, your turn, a vote must be held then. Congrats, you just fucked yourself.

Also, Reagan never had any SCOTUS judges murdered, so there's that too

Let Obama appoint a Conservative Italian American to the Scalia seat and he'll have a new SCOTUS judge

Give it a rest. Your childish paranoia is infantile.

Barry has made his bed, now has to sleep in it.
With Barry being such an unreasonable guy, he has damaged all of the little trust that those who disagreed with Him had in him.
Obamacare being an living hell for millions is one such thing, it was done compleatly underhanded. Typical of career politicians and their federal government.

Fuck the "It takes a village mentality"
Lol

Barry does his job wrong so now the Senate should do the same? You really want to take that position?

Odds are that Obama will outsmart and outmaneuver Republicans in the Senate. Too many are vulnerable in the 2016 election, especially the ones in Democratic states. Add the ones that are just plain old corrupt and willing to wheel and deal for special interest legislation that will help them get or maintain those big reelection contributions and that Republican effort to block a nomination will fold like a house of cards.

If anything, the process should be sped up, not slowed down.

in the OPINION of a liberfool !!
When a critical person dies in office, his vacancy is filled. There should be a recess appointment ASAP, and new nominee named almost as quickly.

i don't think he'll do a recess appointment even if he could. it is better to have the discussion for the next 10 months be obstructionist loons on the right, imo.
