It is always interesting when right wingers have a good election night and try to "translate" those wins as a mandate by the electorate to the Washington establishment.
There is no doubt that in off-years, and in House elections, right wingers will do rather well (along with wins in state legislatures)....However, the WH and the US Senate will prove "bridges too far" for them to win.
Why is this so?.......Actually, this is testimony to the cleverness of the RNC....In pushing for state legislatures in many red states, redistricting has proven very valuable in electing US House representatives with the help of such state legislatures, but such "help" will not be as valuable when electing US senators and a POTUS.
There is no doubt that in off year elections, right wingers bring out the voters, while most democrats are somewhat lazy in taking such election cycles too seriously and that is a great fault. But, as we have seen in national elections, the laziness disappears. Republicans have more than 2 dozen seats in the senate to defend in 2016, and when the election cycle ALSO includes the Oval Office, democrats DO take to the polls.
Next year's election will be great fun.
