FISA is required for surveillance, like wiretapping phones. Unless other information is revealed about the gov't monitoring actual phone calls, FISA wouldn't be applicable in this case since the gov't was only looking for phone records, not pursuing surveillance of phone calls.

Then the concept of a warrant is an absurdity. The DoJ grants the DoJ a warrant to do whatever the fuck the DoJ wants to do?

He's being bashed over the AP story, even though most media outlets didn't cover even greater excesses under Bush.
