Los Angeles| Officers of the LAPD received some totally unexpected backup yesterday, during a fire fight with local gang members in the Watts neighbourhood, as an elderly lady with an assault rifle showed up and scared the criminals away.

She is holding an SKS with a 30 round mag so in order to fire 160 shots she had to do FOUR mag changes UNDER FIRE. And she hit two.

Good for her and those officers should be armed like she is.

All those thugs had to see was someone with an AK and they took off. Sure leveled that playing field.

The cops should have ready access in the field to weaponry at least as sophisticated as what is likely to be encountered on the streets they serve on.

The story is a hoax. I posted it to a cop forum and they figured it out quick.

P.S. I wouldn't be surprised if something like this has really happened at some point though. People that woman's age know what to be prepared for.
