Grumpy Cat Gets Her Own Movie

A lot of good things are happening in Grumpy Cat's life right now, so much so that I'm skeptical of whether or not her grumpiness is sincere anymore.

Not only was she named the Most Influential Cat of the Year by MSNBC (because that's a thing) and the Most Important Meme of the Year by Mashable (because meme's are, like, super important), but now she's getting her own movie. Take that, aspiring filmmakers and your years of hard work and dedication!

Grumpy Cat's manager (a cat with a manager! Adorbz, amirite?!) Ben Lashes is teaming with Broken Road to create a "Garfield-like" movie, with the Grumpy Cat being given the ability to talk, because creating a film with a mute frowning cat as its protagonist would probably be unbearable.

“This started off as a picture of a cat," said Broken Road's Todd Garner, stating the bloody obvious, "but rare is an image that evokes that much comedy. You read all of the memes and the comments, and one is funnier than the next. We think we can build a big family comedy around this character.”
