The crimes that take place against children on the computer, even by other children are a growing threat......trying to find the numbers for death by cyber bullying and sexual stalking are not easily found...but...if less than 100 children a year can force gun grabbers to pass laws forcing gun owners to keep unattended guns locked up....then why not your computer..Right? it is about saving the lives of children...even if there are under 100 a year then all computers, laptops and tablets need to have a lockable cover over them when the owner is not using them....

and no...passwords are not enough...we need them locked securely...right....? so only a hard cover that denies any access to them will do......

so..if you do not lock up your computer, laptop or tablet...6 months jail time for each device left unsecured, and a 1000 dollar fine for each......just makes sense right...? It isn't interfering with your ability to use that device....? Right?

and then we don't ever have to worry about any cyber stalking or cyber bullying again.....no more need for that guy who surprises sexual predators...no more Slender Man murders....right?

Let's do some good and lock up those computers....after all....they are just objects that you use because you have small penises...right?

If what you are doing is trying to prove to the rest of us what an ass you are, you are succeeding. People like you are what causes laws to be created concerning guns.

Actually you are. Most gun laws being passed today are repealing gun control laws and increasing the accessibility of guns to law abiding citizens. The tide is turned and you gun grabbers have been exposed for the lying frauds you are.

At least when computers come to kill, you have a bit of a wait time, because you have to think about it first, and it takes at least a day or two.

With guns? You are dead inside of a second or two.

Nope..............sorry...................guns are deadlier than computers.

I'm all for gun regulation and the "smart gun" that the Right Wing saw as a threat. "Yea but what if it didn't work when I'm protecting my home" is kind of a stupid statement when we have gun owners not locking up their AR-15's with 100 round mags who shoot masses. (R)ight?

Gun regulation should be treated like Hunting Regulation. Not banned, just regulated like intended in the 2A.

Today, gun owners are scared to death to regulate anything because they think their guns will be taken from them via "slippery slope". The stupid want no regulation and the stupid want no guns. Why isn't anyone reading the 2A?

P.S. Every gun I own has a lock. And their are stored behind locks.

Obama's State Department wants the discussion of guns, weapons, ammo, etc. in online websites to be punishable by a one million dollar fine and 20 years in prison. The NRA is fighting it. Can anybody think of the Amendments this law would violate? Is Obama going to issue an XO?

Where do you and others on the right come up with these ridiculous, delusional lies.

Are you and other conservatives so deranged and mentally ill as to believe anyone buys this and similar garbage.

The latest smart gun attempt by the fake indian would ban any gun that is not a smart gun, or retrofitted to be a smart gun 5 years after the legislation.....a ban of guns that don't have the flawed technology.......

And you guys obviously only care about dead kids if there is a gun involved...if it involves something that would impact you...you could care less about dead kids......

Bullying and Suicide - Bullying Statistics

The statistics on bullying and suicide are alarming:

  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year, according to the CDC. For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it.
  • Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University
  • A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying
  • 10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above
  • According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying
I just want "Common Sense" computer laws...laws that would reduce cyber stalking, cyber bullying and would keep our kids alive.......and mandating computer locks, that would prevent unmonitored access to computers, laptops and tablets by children is common sense, and hurts no one....

So a 6 month jail sentence, and a 1000 dollar fine for each unsecured device is just common sense...if it saves one life.....

And look...I am not advocating house to house searches yet........to inspect your homes for unsecured computers......but it should be discussed.....

Virtually every computer today is internet-capable. As such, a communications device. So what a good parent should be asking is who's my kid communicating with? And for what purpose? Unsupervised use shouldn't be permitted any more than letting kids go "to a friend's house" without knowing specific details.

If you wouldn't let your kid walk unsupervised down a busy and chaotic major city street, why on earth are you letting them online unsupervised? I've been online over 30 years and I can attest there are not-so-nice things a few clicks away on a computer. And there's more than a few things seared into my mind's eye I'd rather weren't there.

No kid needs a smartphone. No kid need a portable computer that's internet capable. These are fads. And while they might well be ubiquitos, and not likely to go away as with previous fads, their popularity is in fact entirely fabricated. Human race got along just fine a long long time before they came along. And while a home computer is helpful and advantageous for kids, unsupervised use of one and going online isn't.

Yes....but when the parent isn't home the computer should have a lockable cover on it to prevent child deaths from cyber bullying and sexual predators.......if the computer isn't under the direct control of the owner it needs to be locked down......
