But not violent crimes. Drug offenses where a gun was present carried more time.
Again so what
The mere possession of an illegal gun is a felony
Anyone who would carry a gun illegally is willing to use it
Obammy wants gun control but he obviously doesn't want to enforce the gun laws already on the books
If you want to be tough on guns you do not let people with felony gun charges out of prison
Carrying a gun and using a gun are entirely two different things and two different charges. A non violent offender is just that.
You're putting a negative on this for no good reason.
CArrying a gun illegally is a felony and demonstrates a willingness to use a weapon in the commission of other crimes
There are plenty of drug offenders with no weapons charges that could have been set free
Or it shows a willingness to defend one's self. These cases were scrutinized before action was taken to release anyone. These aren't just random. How much time is required before you believe people have done their time? If someone's already done 20+ years for non violent drug crimes, isn't that enough?
I don't think 20 years for felony gun charges is enough.
As I said there are plenty of nonviolent offenders in jail that do not have felony gun charges
Thankfully you don't decide.
