All of that is fine and I applaud any attempt to make kids safer through physical barriers. I don't support putting arms in the classrooms--it's a terrible idea.

The force you speak of may not have been effective in a response. However they did provide a deterrent; just like the rent-a-cops in nearly every mall in the nation, every Ross store, every Target, etc...

But again, if you're going to call cops to show up with arms to put down the attack, why not have them closer; on campus?

Or how about trained teachers and staff?

I don't think that is a good idea.

First You guys want to pay teachers only marginally better than Wal*Mart pays it's associates and now you want to arm them? No thanks.

Additionally, if you are a Teacher, I want you focused on the classroom. More often than not the threat will come from outside the classroom and that is where you need the response to be.

Finally, when the teacher is not present in the classroom and the kids know there is a firearm somewhere in the room...what do you think will happen?

Spoken (as usual from the left) from a place of pure ignorance. I can guarantee you right now that Candyass has never held a real firearm in his life.

Any idiot knows that you keep your firearm on you or it's useless.

What did you think Candyass, they would hide it inside the blackboard erasers and hope they get to it in time if needed?!? :cuckoo:

Its another dumb idea from the right...not only arm the teacher you want to pay minimum wage to...but make the weapon even more accessible to the kid.

Seriously, how much crack do you smoke before you post?

Any effort to improve school security is an expensive proposition. With most school districts straining to find funds to support education in classrooms, I doubt that much will be done to really improve school security.

I call BS on them not being able to find money.

Anytime they want they seem to be able to float bond issues to build stadiums for their districts. One in Dallas did a $119M issue; $60M of which went to build a football stadium.

Just tell the voters it's for stadium security...LOL and there is a "credible unspecified threat" to the press box.

The thinking has to change by making this a federal issue and federally funded nationwide. States cannot do what needs to be done.

Regardless; I think having armed guards on school grounds is the proverbial reasonable response to an unreasonable situation.

Ah yes - the battle cry of every idiot communist. Give all power to the federal government and have them "fix" everything (that has worked sooooo well through out history) :bang3:

hmm, it seems the capitalist means failed and children have been slaughtered, so I guess you haven't a clue in your stock room. The states have had 200 years to fix the slaughter of children in schools and have failed. Time to let that commie socialist untrustful federal government get the job done YOU failed to do. LMAO!!:lol:

You have to get by the notion of a few armed guards is going to stop the slaughter. Its like putting a band aid on an amputated leg to stop the bleeding. You have to stop these predators before they ever get on the campus and that requires a secure perimeter.

Yanks don't give a shit. All they care about is their 'right' to walk around with dangerous weapons, and murder innocent schoolkids.

Yeah. Gun rights advocates stand and cheer every time a maniac blows away a child. That's what they're fighting for, more dead kids. Yup.

Unfortunetly, the gun rights groups have fought any kind of assignment of responsibility to owning a firearm. And, yes, one of the results of this is dead kids.

That would be ideal.

However, what may happen is that a dozen or two unacceptable deaths may become "just" a handful of unacceptable deaths.

I think turning the schools into armed camps will do more harm than good in the long run. However, there are common sense approaches to take and, at the risk of repeating myself, if you're going to respond by calling the cops because they are armed...it only makes sense to have trained armed response closer.

Indeed, armed guards are part of the security solution. They should ride the buses in, stay with the kids on campus, and ride the bus back to their drop points. We already know from a recent college shooting that armed guards are not the final solution needed.

Spoken like a true libtard (since, you know, they live off of the American tax payer and all and thus have no concept of costs, budgets, ROI, etc.).

When the Dallas Cowboys build a $1 billion stadium, it's not (as libtards believe) because the American people love football that much. It's because that $1 billion stadium is an investment. It brings in over 80,000 people dropping hundreds each in ticket sales, parking, concessions, and merchandise sales. All of which is TAXED (you know, the thing you parasites love more than anything else). And that stadium brings in twice as many people to the surrounding bars, restaurants, etc. - again, with each and every drink, meal, etc. being TAXED.

Dumbocrats just can't stand the thought of the $1 billion not being handed directly to them for nothing. God forbid it serve another purpose before they start their extortion process...

People like you have created this situation. Live with it.:eusa_hand:

Uh...actually people like YOU have created the situation by arming criminals (and blaming others for their behavior) while disarming law abiding citizens.

Clearly it's a bad formula that doesn't work. But even though you Dumbocrats know that, you can't bring yourselves to admit it yet.

When the Dallas Cowboys build a $1 billion stadium,

10 games a year; most of the rest of the time it is empty.

Regardless, it was a school district that spent $60M (over 1/2 of the bond issue) on a stadium that will only benefit male students for the most part and that money will be paid for by the future generations except that stadium will be empty for about about 300 days a year.

A few shillings should be allocated to make sure the students are safe.

Heres another of those con-commies trying to take away Americans gun rights. Don't you know what shall not be infringed means? These con antigunners are the reason we are where we are today. Every con president they elected stole gun rights, so no wonder we see this con trying to do it here!!

Hmm, it seems the communists in the former Soviet Union slaughtered over 61 million people between 1910 and 1987. And you're dumb-ass calls a few dozen children a "slaughter"?!? :lmao:

Uh, hey dumb-ass, assholes like you have prevented us from fixing the problem. It's assholes like YOU who won't allow armed law abiding citizens in and around schools. :cuckoo:

I agree with that 100%

Today in the news they said the gunman had a history of serious mental illness and was off his meds. This has become all to common. Beginning in the 1980's we started deinstitutionalization by releasing mental patients in the community. It was felt that patient's illness could be controlled by drugs and they would improve faster in community with private care. And so began the process and it continues to this day. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that are seriously mentally ill, that for one reason or another, don't get the care they need and no one monitors them to see that they take their meds. As long we allow people like this access to guns, we can expect more attacks on schools, malls, and other public places. Guns in the hands of the mentally ill is a disaster waiting to happen.

Absolutely, positively, not true by any stretch of the imagination. There are concerts and events held in that stadium year 'round. Hell, Glenn Beck even held his "Restoring Love" event at Dallas Stadium.

There isn't a week that goes by in which that venue does not host an event. All of which bring tremendous tax dollars to the Dallas area. Any wonder Texas is thriving and California is collapsing?

We have no proof that that is true. And the 2nd says shall not be infringed. Our founders knew there were crazy people and they didn't cut them off from the 2nd. If they are a danger to themselves or others, keep them locked out of a free society.
