What with Israel kicking the snot out of Hamas every other year and ISIS trying to be the Bully Boy in Gaza, Olive Oyl has more muscle than Hamas.

KHAN YOUNIS (Alresalah.ps) -- Senior leader of Hamas Mahmoud al-Zahhar said all options are available to confront the Israeli occupation, including armed and popular resistance and resistance of boycott.

Armed resistance is not a political issue that may be negotiated, said al-Zahhar in a meeting organized by Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in Khan Younis City on Sunday to commemorate the day Jerusalem was occupied.

"It is neither a controversial, nor a negotiable issue; it is, rather, dogmatic fundamental cause in struggle with Israel," said al-Zahhar, referring to armed resistance, pointing out that Israel has long sought to erase the Palestinian constants, concerning the Palestinian lands, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

"And that is why we demand Israel to demilitarize and surrender!"
Thanks but I choose an endless war..that would eventually cause the Palestinians to demilitarize Hamas and PIJ without their opinion in this matter..

They're all a bunch of stubborn bastards. Just like Northern Ireland in the '70s.

Humility, self-deprecation, and a wanton regard for survival can go a long way toward promulgating peace.

Hamas tunnel collapses killing seven...

Hamas militants 'die in Gaza tunnel collapse'
28 Jan.`16 - Palestinian militant group Hamas says seven of its fighters have died after an attack tunnel they were working on in north-east Gaza collapsed.
The tunnel near the Israeli border collapsed after heavy rain, it said. Palestinian militants have used tunnels on Gaza's borders with Israel and Egypt to launch attacks on Israel, transport weapons or smuggle goods. Israel destroyed dozens of tunnels during the 2014 Gaza conflict, but says Hamas has been rebuilding them.

Meanwhile, tunnels on the Egyptian border have been used to smuggle weapons into Gaza - but have also become an entry point for civilian goods. The tunnels have played a vital role in the economy of Gaza, which has been under a blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt in 2007. The Egyptian military began flooding tunnels on its borders late last year, and says it has eliminated about 90% of them.

Tunnels have been used for smuggling weapons between Gaza and Sinai, but have also been a lifeline for civilians

Israel occupied Gaza in the 1967 Middle East war and pulled its troops and settlers out in 2005. Israel considered this the end of the occupation, but it still exercises control over most of Gaza's borders, waters and airspace. Egypt controls Gaza's southern border.

Hamas 'fighters ' and not just members, were they possibly training or planning something?

aris2chat, et al,

While this is just one of a basket full of potential non-violent approaches; I do not think the Arab Palestinians have evolved to the point that they can appreciate that. And that makes the non-violent approach highly improbable until such time as the Palestinians tip a catastrophic threshold that changes their perceptions.

(COMMENT)

The Hostile Arab Palestinian believes in Martyrdom (
exaggerated suffering to obtain sympathy or admiration
) and not acts of heroism (
great bravery
).

Even at the risk of death, the heroic will take the action that is most likely to save others. Where as Martyrdom is self-sacrifice for a reward, or religious salvation.

This are not the characteristic normally associated with the Hostile Arab Palestinian that promotes the concept of "any and all means" and the perpetual conflict.

Most Respectfully,
R
