That's a cynical way of looking at things. Whether someone is 100% a believer or not, or somewhere in the middle (like me), holidays can still be celebrated. BTW, Gd is not mentioned even once in the Book of Esther. Jews celebrate because Esther risked her own life to save her people. People make merry, get a little tipsy and put on costumes, like on Halloween. As for Easter: I'm not Christian, but the holiday could be about the arrival of spring. If someone is sick, either physically or mentally, and recovers, that's like a resurrection or new life. It doesn't have to be 100% literal.
