Commentary:
This has been known since the creation of plasrics in the lab.
Production wise, other than H.D. polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate most plastics cannot be recycled.
As a general rule 25% recycled material can be used in manufature of mew plastic.
Plastic recycling is commonly believed to be a solution to plastic pollution, but a recent study shows the process may actually increase plastic pollution.1
