This Spike Lee series is four episodes, with each episode being about 2 hours, so I am breaking it down into four threads.
Episode 3 (Chapters 5 and 6) covers the day of 9/11. This is particularly well done.
We've probably all seen a lot of documentaries and YouTube videos about that day, and many of us watched it live that day, but Spike Lee covers some amazing events I can almost guarantee you have never heard about and which will make you wonder why you never heard about them.
I'll just say "Dunkirk" and leave it at that.
Spike does dive very, very briefly into a conspiracy theory about Flight 93, but it is not an unreasonable moment.
There are also some footage of the people of NYC in full panic talking about wild rumors they have heard. This is an outstanding showcase of what happens during disasters. When people are panicked and not getting information, the shit really flies.
This is an outstanding piece of work.
