I don't expect her to quit being a dem but maybe she won't be as anti-gun.....Buying a 9mm instead of a revolver (assuming it was not a 9mm revolver) also helps in that she (and her friends) now know the difference between full and semi-auto firearms and possibly will be less likely to call for their ban.
