Greenland moved NW while North America moved SW, and each passed that 600 miles to the pole threshold. Greenland entered it, and in under 2 million years is now a full continent specific ice age. North America exited it, and that's why that ice melted....

We had this discussion before. Technically Ellesmere Island is in ice age still. The question is whether it was an "island" 50 million years ago, or glaciers dug what was a complete continent into the "Queen Elizabeth Islands"
