How do you keep motivated to keep participating here?

I try to post a variety of topics to break the monotony but even then tards come in with the usual bullshit.
Sometimes it just feels like a worn out relationship where you both know it's over but the "comfort zone" keeps you reluctantly plowing along.
Everything is Trump/Russia regardless of the topic. Or it's all socialist/ism. I'm just as guilty of course but I think we need marriage counseling....

You know the funny thing is I did join because of Obama. I normally never thought enough about politics to get involved but his policies were forcing the economy to creep along at a snails pace and as a business owner I felt the need to vent without tying my political opinions to my business. And I'm still here...
Don't post near as often but it comes in spurts now. May also have something to do with disconnecting ALL msm from my tv. Just got tired of being perpetually angry about shit I can't control.

I post on USMB for therapy. Among other vocations I am a writer. I spend upwards of twelve to fifteen hours writing fiction day in, day out. Debating with like and opposite minded fellow assholes for a couple of hours each day helps get me warmed up for the inevitable writing slog. Used to be that USMB coupled with copious White Russians would get me set for a day of editing and adding to my current work in progress, be it a short story or novel. But since the pandemic began I've had to add healthy doses of tree-kicking and bourbon to the mix just to cope. Some days, admittedly, I can't take as much of USMB as I used to. Other days this place is required psychological maintenance.

How do you keep motivated to keep participating here?

Guess again. There's a grampa or an old man tinkering in the garage, and there's a “political” machine that happens to run on fossil fuels and whose driver would like it to stay “motivated” in order to get to work on time. Where did you park last night? Who did that to you? FBI agents are hanging around garages and parking lots, and random people are asking your past neighbors and ex-boyfriends a lot of questions.

So did any clues turn up from all that gumshoeing around? Or is it just the usual mafia hit men commissioning murder-for-hire on the interstates. And a person just isn't welcome in town anymore because city hall is behind all that shit.

Thank for that! That is so true. I find ironically, that people I fight with on the political boards, are often cool behind the scenes...and I have great pm chats. It's easy (for me at least) to get too serious, to snarky and to bitchy. Your post is a great reminder.

I try to make some humor in every single post I make. I post shorter stuff. If you can't say the summary of your post in 3 lines, I don't bother much after that. Just my preference.
