How's the Weather Where You Live?

I sure hope the warmies are right this year. God we could use a mild winter for a change. We live up at 8000' on the remote southwestern corner of Colorado's San Luis Valley, right in the San Juan Mountain foothills. It's beautiful and rugged here, the old west for sure, but it can get very cold in the winter, and windy too. So here it is, December 1st, 10:30 AM, and there's not a flake of snow on the ground...and it's 71 degrees! That's highly unusual to say the least. But I know it's not going to last.

The weather is variable. As it always is. Did you mean "climate"?

Past summer: virtually nonexistent. Past winter: record cold. Two winters before: didn't even show up.

The high plains of the USA are currently quite cold, while the rest of the nation is warmer than average. Temperature at the North Pole is now around 25F, which is warmer than North Dakota.

Long term forecast is for more seasonal temps over the next couple days, then unseasonable heat arriving in about a week for the whole lower 48.

I like this site to look at forecast trends.

It's 4am and I have just awoken to the gentlest of misty rain. It's about 60oF and I raced out to put the lawnmower under cover...son left it out yesterday and I meant to put it away when I got home..and the drop saw..we're renovating and I had set it up out in the yard...so I've been a bit busy already. It's been warm to hot of late (some 100oF days) which is a little unusual but not uncommon with a large storm down the road in Brisbane a few days ago which took out my daughter's unit; she's at Uni so is/was renting in a "bedsitter" suburb across the river. All in all a fairly typical lead into early summer though the heat was a tad uncomfortable for a while.
Oh: I like this site to give a bit of balance to the "end of worlders" with overheating complexes.

Christmas decorating the outside today, wearing jeans and a t-shirt, living in SE PA, temp sitting around 55. Seasonal.

Wherever you live, if it is cold it is just weather but if it is mild, it is catastrophic anthropogenic global warming.

Yes, its a very pretty picture, which the under-educated really love.

How much did this cost the tax-payers, it comes out of the University of Maine.

Funny how all these scam websites manage to take our money, with the cost of education so high, I can see why, when the money is being diverted to the Global Warming Propaganda War.

Make these fools pay for their own propaganda, how many people realize that billions of dollars are being diverted from real education to make pretty websites that propagate propaganda.

So "weather forecasting" has joined the list of things that elektra thinks is a socialist conspiracy.

elektra, it would probably be a shorter list if you just told us what _wasn't_ a socialist conspiracy.

The OP has no idea what he means.

Just had a lovely Summer storm. Nice to see that they are still around and filling up our dams again...the ones the AGW mob said would remain empty for ever.

another moot post, "maMOOT", I understand you rode the "short bus", hence mamoot looks for the short list.

mamoot, do you actually believe that college students are scientist simply because the government says so? Talk about being naive and ignorant.

Science, because the government says so and CNN reports so.

more storms today. Hot and sticky...humid!!!

let it rain!!!

Drought breaking we hope.
