You use the term "complicit" in the crime, yet Daniels and McDougal didn't do anything illegal. They did not participate in the alleged illegal activities. They were not part of the Trump Organization and had no knowledge of or participation in the illegal method of payment.

Yeah, I’ve discussed this before. Using an obscure New York State law to try and gain the ability to charge a federal crime at the state level.

Trump used campaign funds for an illegal purpose, thereby engaging in election interference by hiding important facts from the voting public, not to mention that paying off a porn star is sleazy and unbecoming of someone considered a “Christian “ icon by MAGA.

FPOTUS#45 didn't use "campaign funds", he used Trump Organization funds in an alleged illegal manner. Trump Organization funds are not "campaign funds". So technically it's a timing thing. Trump Org paid first, then after the fact it had to be reported as a campaign contributions. The after the fact reporting requirement does not make it "campaign funds".

Candidates are allowed to make unlimited contributions (cash or in-kind) to a campaign, however they are required to report such contributions.
