You are also assuming that the building codes were very stringent like today and there wasn't any short cuts, and inpectors that took some money under the table to look the other way. This is NY after all.You know, here's how I feel about the birthers, the truthers, and all those other conspiracy nuts out there.
Just because you saw something, you should investigate ALL of it. And, when the truth doesn't look like what you'd expected, check to make sure that it's right, but if the evidence is slanted (like most 9/11 truthers is), you may wish to check again.
First off, magnesium is a light, strong metal used in aircraft. It will catch fire at the levels of heat generated by aircraft fuel. When the magnesium parts start to burn? It burns at 1500 - 2000 degrees.
And........don't forget, the insulation painted over the steel beams wasn't there to fireproof them, it was there for rust proofing. It afforded a little protection, but not much.
Then, consider the fact that they crashed them 1/3 of the way down the building. When the first floor gave away, it had not only the weight of the floor above it coming down, but the weight of the entire top 20 stories of the building, landing on something that wasn't designed to take a 15 ft fall of a 20 story building.
But.......that's no reason to end a friendship. If your friends have to think and act like you, then you're not looking for friends, you're looking for followers.
In all the building i build all steel columns girders steel joist have to be fire proofed with monokote with a 4 hour rating, i'm sure a skyscraper would be at a higher rating .
They wouldn't have let that slide.
