Your post is nonsensical. It wasn't some faceless government agency that decided to not go into the school, it was people who made the decision themselves not to get their heads blown off. The very same thing could happen to your gang of conspiracy theorists you want to wrangle up at every school in the nation. Or more likely since this group wouldn't necessarily be trained they could make things worse. They run into the school and then when the cops show up they run into the school and then you just might have a big old fashioned shoot out.

I have no problem with armed guards, but they have to be accountable to the community and private militias aren't. Regimented training for guards, metal detectors and then of course no kid should legally be able to own an AR15 style weapon, let alone the crazy ones. Our background check system needs to be more robust where medical personnel can directly impact the system. Ensure all gun sales go through a background check system. If parents leave their guns laying around then they are too stupid to own them and they should be taken away forever. That kid had the key to the gun safe, his guardians should be held accountable.

I went and looked at em but the bolt stroke doesnt appear to be long enough for a 5.56.

Actually, a large number of people who have concealed carry permits train and shoot more than organized law-enforcement. Police officers generally only go to the range to qualify a couple times a year. I handload much of my own ammo and go to the range sometimes once a week, sometimes twice.

Plus there are the targets I have up the hill behind the house. You'd be surprised at how many law-enforcement officers are not really "gun guys" too, and never fire their weapons until their qualification shoots.
