America's fanding fouthers were looking for something short of the powers of royalty, and they chode to name it a 'president' Tommy.
But since Trump has appeared, Americans have discovered that the socalled 'president''s power even actually exceeds the bounds of royalty. Especially as other nations have moved on and stripped their royalty of all powers that aren't just symbolic and ceremonial.

Leaving America as the odd man out with a president that is all powerful in the ways you describe and more.

Yes, a US pesident could indeed shoot a political enemy dead and then be blessed with the power to escape any punishment.

At least we know that other monarchacies still hold power over their monarches to cause his head to roll!

America apparently has no stopgap measures to stop a rampaging mentally ill president.

They've in fact created a figurehead that could easily accomodate the ilk of George III.
