And here we have an island nation.....that banned and confiscated guns....and they still have shootings in a store.....

Tell us, oh anti gunners...what Australian gun control lawkept the individual with this gun from turning this into a mass public shooting?

11-year-old shot in the face in Tasmania

AN 11-YEAR-OLD girl who was shot in the face following a dispute in a Tasmania Woolworths supermarket has been identified as Phoenix Newitt.

The schoolgirl is in a serious but stable condition after she was flown to Melbourne for medical treatment following the shooting at Deloraine, near Launceston.

Police told reporters the shooting followed a dispute in a Woolworths supermarket about 9pm on Tuesday night.

It is believed the dispute involved the young girl’s mother and another woman, and turned physical. One woman was bitten and another suffered cuts to the head.

From your post....you show you don't understand the issue.....

Here is an a breakdown of gun deaths in the United States....keep in mind, Americans use guns 1,500,000 times a year to stop violent criminal attack.....

also, keep in mind...

We went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 16.3 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2017...guess what happened...
-- gun murder down 49%
--gun crime down 75%
--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Suicide
So you lie....you hide what the numbers actually are...and you lie about suicide as the highest number of gun deaths...even though Japan, Korea, China, all have absolute gun control for law abiding citizens...only criminals and cops can have guns.......and they have higher suicide rates than we do....and our non-gun suicide rate has been higher than our gun suicide rate for 2 years in a row.....

Gun Accidental Death...

Gun accidents....in a country with over 320,000,000 people...... with 400,000,000 guns in private hands, and over 15,700,000 people carrying guns for self defense..... 489 accidental gun deaths....

Gun murder
Of the 9,616 gun murders in this country, 70-80% of the victims are criminals, engaged in criminal activity or part of the criminal life style....and of the remaining victims....many of them are friends and family of the criminal...caught up in the criminal's lifestyle.....

If more guns is good then stop complaining. Every day Australia has more and more guns. Yet this shooting happens and you claim it's because there aren't enough guns.

In the U.S. shootings happen every day even though we have more guns than people. Are you saying there aren't enough guns here?

Do you hurt yourself much when you use those mental controtions?

Guns in Australia, in particular hand guns and rifles with magazines were banned and confiscated....that hasn't stopped criminals from getting them. It has prevented normal, law abiding Australians from owning guns for self defense. The ban and confiscation didn't stop gun crime or violence, it just disarmed normal Australians.

I am stating that taking guns away from normal, law abiding people does not lower the gun crime rate. Also, I am saying the central premise, the motivating factor, for gun control activists is the myth that more guns = more gun crime. As I have shown, this is wrong....it is not supported by facts or reality. As more Americans own and carry guns, our gun crime rate has gone down, not up....

So how could this shooting POSSIBLY have happened?!

They can't own handguns....the prime tool used in crime.....but criminals get them.

3 million guns in a country of 24 million? Good for them.

Australia's murder rate falls to record low of one person per 100,000

Nope.....that isn't true...as our country proved with over 20 years and close to 600 million guns...what Australia shows is that taking guns away from law abiding Australians doesn't reduce gun crime.......

We went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 16.3 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2017...guess what happened...

Record gun sales bring Australia's firearm arsenal to highest level since the Port Arthur massacre

and yet their criminals still use guns......taking guns away from law abiding people had nothing to do with their gun crime rate, since the law abiding weren't using guns for crime......now, as their criminals become more violent, their gun crime rate is going up....since crime is driven by criminals, and not the law abiding.
